Prof. Francisco Forriol
Currently Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of San Pablo – CEU on the Montepríncipe Campus in Boadilla del Monte, Madrid
Specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology. Tenured Professor at the University of Alcalá, Madrid. Professor in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarre, consultant in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology of the University Clinic of Navarre in Pamplona, and Director of the Experimental Orthopaedics laboratory since its foundation.
Research Director at Fremap Mutua de Accidentes, having developed a research centre on the musculoskeletal system which is currently closed.
Training undertaken in Austria, Germany and the Netherlands. Corresponding member of the societies of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology of Germany, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela.
President of SECOT between 2012 and 2014. Previously Director of Publications and Vice-president of the Spanish Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SECOT).
Currently Editor of the journal of the Latin American Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (SLAOT) and Scientific Director of CONMEBOL (South American Football Confederation).
Four six-year research periods granted.
Author of 102 indexed articles and more than 250 non-indexed articles; author of 15 books and collaborator in 60 book chapters focusing on biomechanics, bone repair and the regeneration of joint cartilage, with the application of new biotechnologies in the musculoskeletal system.
Participant in various Spanish and European projects. Director of 35 doctoral theses.
